Ys I & II Chronicles+ revisits the origins of Falcom's acclaimed action RPG series, originally released in 1987 and 1988. The narrative transports players to the ancient kingdom of Ys, a land once thriving under the watch of two celestial Goddesses. Over centuries, the memory of its divine past faded into legend, save for a solitary remnant: a cursed spire at the edge of a colossal crater, colloquially known as "The Devil’s Tower."

The story unfolds with the emergence of monsters in Esteria, a region previously rich with prosperity following a silver rush that spurred exponential development. As the threat intensifies, inhabitants are driven into hiding, confronting an escalating menace that endangers their survival.

The protagonist, Adol Christin, is a young adventurer drawn by rumors of these disturbances. Driven by youthful curiosity and unwavering resolve, he ventures through treacherous storms to explore Esteria and uncover its secrets—culminating in a journey that leads to a mysterious land among the clouds, shrouded in a 700-year-old enigma.

This remake offers a modernized interpretation of the classic titles with several notable enhancements:
